REALTORS® met with candidates for the 13th Congressional District July 30 in Springfield.
David Gill, a Democrat from Bloomington, and Rodney Davis, a Republican from Taylorville, pitched their candidacies before a panel made up of representatives from four area REALTOR® associations.
The candidates covered topics ranging from foreign trade to tax reform, with a special emphasis on housing policy. The meetings were held to allow IAR’s members an opportunity to see which would be best in terms of representing REALTOR® interests if elected.
Taking part in the questioning were members of the Bloomington-Normal Board of REALTORS®, the Decatur Association of REALTORS®, the Capital Area Association of REALTORS® and the Champaign County Association of REALTORS®. The meetings were held at the Illinois Association of REALTORS® building in Springfield.
Gill is a emergency room doctor at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. Davis previously worked as special projects director for U.S. Rep. John Shimkus, R-Collinsville.
