Twenty-eight people were named to the board of directors for the Illinois Association of REALTORS® at a meeting on Tuesday.
The board will serve for the 2013-2014 year, and include 18 candidates selected by a nominating committee, six association past presidents, three officers and the association’s immediate past president. There is also an ex-officio appointment to the board of the National Association of REALTORS® Region 7 vice president.
The board selections were finalized at the association’s board meeting held in St. Charles, Ill., in connection with the IAR Conference and Expo.
The transition is notable because IAR previously had a board of directors that had more than 100 members. The change was voted on a year ago in an effort to increase efficiency and engagement.
The board members selected by the nominating committee are:

IAR’s officers service for 2014 include:
- Phil Chiles, president
- James Kinney, president-elect
- Mike Drews, treasurer
Additionally, the other two appointed are:
Michael D. Oldenettel, immediate past president and John Kmiecik, NAR Region 7 vice president. (This is an ex officio role).
