Remind eligible colleagues that applications will be due for two Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF) Scholarships in one week.
Oct. 1 is the deadline for the Roxanne Malo Leadership Scholarship and the Past Presidents Scholarship.
The Malo Scholarship was established as a tribute to Malo’s personal commitment to REALTOR® leadership. Each year, the fund provides one or more scholarships of up to $500 for the continuation and expansion of leadership skills in a real estate related field.
The Past Presidents Scholarship provides $500 to an Illinois REALTOR® who is pursuing the following designations: Certified Residential Broker (CRB), Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) or REALTOR® Association Certified Executive (RCE).
In addition, REEF accepts applications on an ongoing basis for the:
- Illinois Minority Real Estate Scholarship Program – The Foundation, Illinois REALTORS® and the State of Illinois provide funding for up to 100 Illinois Minority Scholarships annually. This program is open to qualified racial minority residents of Illinois pursuing courses of study that will prepare them for careers relating to real estate or enhance the skills and knowledge that they currently use as real estate professionals.
- Gary L. Clayton Scholarship – The Gary L. Clayton Scholarship has been established as a tribute to the Illinois REALTORS® longtime CEO’s commitment to the REALTOR® organization and his dedication to leadership. Scholarships will be awarded to Illinois REALTORS® members for the continuation and expansion of their leadership skills.
- Illinois Education & Training Grant – for students pursuing a real estate degree or real estate license in Illinois. It may be used for the Illinois REALTORS® D2L online courses or any Illinois REALTORS® live classroom course, and
- Rich Port Scholarship – for licensed Illinois real estate agents to complete undergraduate courses through the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) as undergraduate only.
Since 2000, Illinois REEF has awarded 1,068 scholarships totaling more than $792,000, helping Illinois real estate professionals and students fulfill their educational dreams and pursue their careers in the real estate industry.
