Farmers National Company’s brokers Jim Young (left), Winnie Stortzum and Tucker Wood accept CIBR award on Mac Boyd’s behalf.

Mac Boyd, the late Managing Broker of Farmers National Company in Arcola, and an RPAC Hall of Famer, was recently given posthumous honors from three different organizations to which he belonged.

Last week the Central Illinois Board of Realtors (CIBR) named Boyd ”Realtor of the Year.” He had previously won this award in 1990. Mac had been a 40-year member of this organization and served as president and chair of many committees over his years of service to the board. The award was announced at the CIBR membership meeting on March 28.

Last week in Charlotte, NC, at the national Land Conference of the Realtors Land Institute (RLI), Boyd received the Robert Meeks Distinguished Service Award – the highest award they offer for service. Boyd had served as the national president for RLI and had been recognized as Land Realtor of America by RLI too.

And this year, for the first time, the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA) dedicated its Land Values and Lease Trends Survey to a member – Boyd. A 42-year member of ISPFMRA, he served as president, helped at annual benefit auctions to support ag scholarships for university students and provided years of service to the organization.

Boyd died Dec. 20, 2016. Read more.
