Illinois REALTORS® met with U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood on Thursday, May 12, 2016, kicking off a second day of meetings in Washington, D.C.
LaHood, who was sworn into office after a special election last year, is one of the newest representatives in Congress, but he has a long record of working with REALTORS® on private property issues. As a state lawmaker Illinois REALTORS® often worked with him on issues affecting the business.
LaHood also presented a proclamation at Illinois REALTORS®’ 100th anniversary celebration in Springfield in April.
Federal Coordinator Pat McCarthy led a discussion with LaHood which included a discussion on G-fees, the 1031 Like-Kind Exchange and availability of credit for homebuyers.
