Let’s recap the recognition some Illinois REALTORS® received during the year because of the significant ways they impacted their colleagues, their communities and the marketplace. And because we couldn’t fit everyone in one blog post, let’s continue the conversation today with Dan Wagner.

August – Chicago Association of REALTORS® President Dan Wagner participated in a panel discussion at the NAR Leadership Summit about the benefits of keeping such a tool for commercial property owners. Wagner has been involved in gaining congressional support for 1031 Exchange legislation. A few days later in Seattle, Wash., he was part of a panel discussion about 1031s and millennials at the 2015 REALTOR® Broker Summit. Earlier in the year

In March, Wagner was named as the committee liaison for the NAR Commercial Group. His IAR experience includes: board member; the Business Issues/License Law Forum; the Commercial Industrial Investment Committee; Federal Political Coordinator; vice chair for RPAC trustees; the Strategic Planning Committee; and representing Illinois REALTORS® at the MIPIM international trade show in Cannes, France. Last January, he received the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s Advocacy Award for his work as a community advocate for the Wheaton Park District. In July, he joined five colleagues in a series of NAR videos designed to tell consumers about real estate issues, and in November, he and former IAR President Mike Oldenettel were interviewed for NAR consumer outreach videos, too. In October, he and Bob Eby, Mabel Guzman, Ed Neaves, Chris Read and Vicky Turner were honored by the IAR Board of Directors with Presidential Medallions for their service.
