The Aurora Noon Rotary turned out to be the perfect match for REALTOR® Mike Drews when he sought a community organization that would continue to energize and support his hometown 10 years ago.
“I knew many of the members from my business contacts,” explains the broker-associate at Charles B. Doss & Co. in Aurora. “Also, I liked the Rotary motto, ‘Service above self,’ and the four questions asked at the end of every meeting: ‘1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? 4. Is it beneficial to all concerned?’”
Now serving as the 2016 IAR president with 37 years of real estate experience, Drews still takes great pride in the Aurora Rotary’s outreach projects, including one very visible project that recently finished. “I do like our Festival of Lights Project at Christmas. From the Friday after Thanksgiving to the Sunday after Christmas, you can drive through the city park to view a mile-long display of Christmas lights and displays. All the displays are paid from corporate donations. Donations are accepted at the end of the drive. Over the last eight years, the Aurora Noon Rotary has donated almost $200,000 back to community organizations.”
