REALTORS® can make their voices heard in the April 2 consolidated election by casting votes at designated early voting locations through Monday.
To find out where to cast your ballot, the Illinois State Board of Elections provides a link to all the local election authorities in the state. Voters can choose the county or city they vote in, and with the click of a mouse, contact information and a webpage for the jurisdiction appear on screen. The website then provides locations and times for early voting during the coming days — even some during the weekend.
If your local election authority has a webpage, you may be able to view a sample ballot to see the candidates running for office or referendums on the ballot. In many municipalities, candidates are competing for: mayor or president, clerk, treasurer and council members/commissioners/trustees/aldermen. Other candidates are running for trustees of: regional school boards, park districts, public library districts, townships, municipal libraries, community colleges and fire protection districts. And still others are running as board members of school districts or commissioners of forest preserve districts, townships or exposition and auditorium authorities.
Polls will be open Tuesday, April 2, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Make sure the REALTOR® voice is heard.
