Illinois REALTORS® have been attending special events with lawmakers, party leaders and staff members this week at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, just as they did last week at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
With meetings and receptions scheduled in different locations in Philadelphia, REALTORS® would routinely drive, ride or walk past places of historical significance, such as the grave of Benjamin Franklin, Independence Hall and so much more.
Otherwise known as the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia was the meeting place for the Founding Fathers to sign the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the Constitution in 1787. Philadelphia was the hometown of Betsy Ross, who was credited with creating the first American flag.
As a bi-partisan association, Illinois REALTORS® representatives strive to continue the relationship-building process with policymakers from both sides of the aisle. By attending the Democratic National Convention, Illinois REALTORS® show our support for the political process.
