The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is now providing an electronic alternative to the customary paper license pocket card. Licensees may carry their license cards in their smartphones or tablets instead of keeping a paper copy.

To access the electronic license pocket card, licensees should use their device to go to www.idfpr.com/GetMyLicense and enter the appropriate license number and either the Access ID or the last four digits of the licensee’s social security number and date of birth.

Under the Actions column, licensees should click View/Print License and save the pocket card license to the smartphone or tablet as a pdf. If the device does not have the capacity to save the file as a pdf, licensees may also take a screenshot and store it to the device as a photo.
