The Illinois General Assembly is heading down the home stretch of the spring session, but Illinois REALTOR® lobbyists were hard at work to make sure last-minute legislation doesn’t hurt REALTORS® or their clients.
Topping the agenda was work on SB 2300, which had initially called for a prohibition on sale of single- or multi-family dwellings if there was found to be an issue with lead paint, even if the problem was in the process of being fixed.
Work with a state agencies and the bill’s backers appears to have made a difference, and you can find out all about it in today’s State Capitol Report. (Only for Illinois REALTORS® members).
Learn about this issue and others which relate to the Cook County Assessor’s Office and water authorities in the state. The bills are among the thousands of bills filed each legislative session that the Springfield lobbying team review to see if they would have an adverse effect on the real estate industry or private property rights.
