Four Illinois REALTORS® were selected for a stipend program which enabled them to attend Expo REAL in Munich, Germany. The recipients are, left to right, Jana Herdova, Andy Velkme, Sara McMurray and Amy Hall.

Several Illinois REALTORS® got a chance to build their businesses and global real estate experience by attending one of Europe’s largest trade shows this month.

Illinois REALTORS® attending Expo REAL in Munich were part of a presence established by the National Association of REALTORS®, which had a booth there.

Called Expo REAL, the event in Munich, Germany, Oct. 7-9, brought together professionals from all aspects of the commercial real estate industry.

Illinois REALTORS®, in conjunction with the Northern Illinois Commercial Board of REALTORS®, awarded four stipends to REALTORS® to cover the cost of registration for the event. The stipend recipients were:

  • Andy Velkme, Caton Commercial Real Estate
  • Jana Herdova, Regency Inc.
  • Sara McMurray, Compass
  • Amy Hall, Caton Commercial Real Estate

Expo REAL is one of several education initiatives Illinois REALTORS® undertakes to make sure its members are exposed to the global business of real estate. Annually, the association sends a delegation to the MIPIM conference in Cannes, France, to help market the REALTOR® brand and Illinois as an investment destination.

Several other Illinois REALTORS® also made the trip. The National Association of REALTORS® had a presence at the show, as well.
