Last night the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) celebrated the transition of its leadership for the new year as REALTOR® Phil Chiles, ABR, CRS, GRI, SRES, was installed as the 2014 president of our state association.
Chiles is a broker-associate with the Real Estate Group in Springfield. He has a history of service and involvement in the REALTOR® association at the local, state and national levels.
The theme of this year’s IAR Fall Conference was “The Power of R,” and Chiles said it is a fitting reflection on the power and influence the REALTOR® profession has on communities, the real estate industry and government.
Chiles reminded REALTORS® there is tremendous power in the REALTOR® brand and urged them to show the Power of R over the coming year with a commitment to political involvement, advocacy, education, professionalism and the REALTOR® family.
“I believe it’s time for us to put that power to work. It’s time for us to soar,” he said.
Chiles is a past president of the Capital Area Association of REALTORS®. He has lent his time and expertise to numerous IAR committees and in 2008, received an IAR Presidential Medallion for his contributions to the state association.
REALTOR® Jim Kinney, ABR, CRB, CRS, GRI, of Chicago was installed as the 2014 president-elect of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®. Kinney is vice president of luxury home sales for Baird & Warner in Chicago.
REALTOR® Mike Drews of Aurora was installed as the 2014 treasurer of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®. Drews is a broker-associate with Charles B. Doss & Co. in Oswego.
Immediate past president Michael D. Oldenettel, CRS, GRI, of Jacksonville, managing broker-owner of RE/MAX Results Plus, Inc. in Jacksonville will continue to lend his expertise on the IAR Leadership Team after serving as president in 2013.
