IAR’s Gideon Blustein, regional manager for member outreach, wrote a letter to the editor of the Herald News about how getting rid of impact fees might actually help schools with lagging enrollments and increase economic investment.

Blustein’s letter noted that several Will County communities have reduced the fees and at least one of the communities has already seen housing growth. Housing growth translates into potentially higher enrollments. It also puts more money into the local economy. .
