The Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (YPN) used its 6th Annual Ugly Sweater Party & Fundraiser to collect $1,825 for South Suburban PADS, a non-profit organization created to combat homelessness.
In addition to the monetary donations, Mainstreet also collected and later donated winter coats, backpacks, tissues and other winter necessities.
“It’s the season of giving, and I couldn’t be happier with the turnout of the event,” said Mainstreet YPN Committee Chair David Bovyn. “Being a REALTOR® is more than just selling houses. We are here to represent our communities and to help out when people in our communities are in need.”
“Each year, this YPN committee never fails to impress me with their passion for helping others,” said Mainstreet YPN Committee Vice-Chair Eric Basiorka. “I look forward to it every year, a time to showcases the [ugly sweater] creativity and generosity of our members.”
The party allowed members to enjoy each other’s company, eat together while many wore ugly holiday sweaters. But the fundraising portion of the event was the true highlight and put a huge emphasis on the phrase, “season of giving,” said Bovyn.
The mission of South Suburban PADS is to move every individual and family experiencing homelessness from the streets to permanent supportive housing.
MORe is led by Gormley, President Brian Kwilosz, President-elect Linda Dressler, Treasurer John LeTourneau and Immediate Past President Michael Gobber. Mainstreet serves 18,360 members in the Chicagoland area.
