Illinois REALTORS® will continue to celebrate the accomplishments of women and foster their development beyond Women’s History Month, says President Sue Miller, designated managing broker for Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group in McHenry.
In the following video, Miller talks about some of the challenges she’s experienced in her 33-year real estate career and how colleagues, friends and mentors encouraged her and gave her examples to follow. Suggestions to become involved with her community and her local association eventually led to opportunities on the state and national levels and introduced her to generous, encouraging and influential REALTORS®, many of whom happened to be female.
Join the 12th woman president in the history of the state association as she shares her Four Rules of Leadership and encourages other members to seize opportunities to lead in their communities, their industry and the various levels of REALTOR® associations.
“Make yourself available, never say no, don’t stay pigeon-holed and do things you could never imagine you would be good at,” says Miller. “Be recognized, introduce yourself to every staff member and leader…because you never know when you’re going to get tapped for that extraordinary position.”
