In the Chicago Tribune article, “Discouraged in your home search? You aren’t alone,” several Chicago-area real estate professionals talked about how low inventory and rising prices are affecting the current housing market and buying patterns.

The marketplace — particularly younger consumers — continues to be price sensitive, said REALTOR® Joe Kenny, of Realty Executives Midwest in Darien. But it’s a seller’s market for properties in the mid-range of prices and those are moving quickly, he said.

Others interviewed for the article include: Jeff Lasky, vice president of Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED), REALTOR® Terri McAuley with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff in Chicago and REALTOR® Karen Irace with RE/MAX 1st Service in Orland Park.
