Illinois REALTOR® Zeke Morris was honored during NAR’s Board of Directors meeting on Saturday in Washington, D.C., for spearheading the national association’s efforts on marking the 50th anniversary of the federal Fair Housing Act.

Morris serves as chair of the NAR Fair Housing Act Anniversary Implementation Group, and played a high-profile role in making sure the topic was at the core of events in D.C. during the annual Midyear Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo.
NAR President Elizabeth Mendenhall called Morris and the co-chair of the group, Gail Hartnett, to the podium to be recognized for their work.
Morris played a role in crafting the Illinois REALTORS® commemoration of the Fair Housing Act anniversary and was among those in a video exploring the impact the act had on the real estate industry produced by the state association.
At the national level, Morris took on the high-profile role of helping guide the association’s commemoration, which included a frank acknowledgement of NAR’s growing role over the years of promoting fair housing as a core issue for REALTORS®. The national association’s role in the fair housing issue was extensively explored at NAR 360, the opening general session at Midyear.
Morris and Hartnett also addressed REALTORS® at a Tuesday reception at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.
