Illinois REALTOR® Michael Oldenettel, CRS, GRI has been named to two real estate-governance panels, according to letters filed by Gov. Bruce Rauner’s office.
Oldenettel, who served as Illinois REALTORS® president in 2013, was appointed to the Illinois Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board and the Illinois Real Estate Education Advisory Council.
The Real Estate Administration and Advisory Board (READ) reviews disciplinary cases involving real estate licensees, and can recommend penalties that may include fines, suspensions and license revocations based on findings. Oldenettel joins three other Illinois REALTORS® on the board, including Judy Higgins Stowe, Chris Read and Carol Strader.
The Education Advisory Council (EAC) approves curriculum changes, new continuing education and pre-license courses and instructor and school applications statewide. Oldenettel will serve with Illinois REALTOR® Wayne Paprocki and Illinois REALTORS® Education Manager Carrie Elliot.
The appointments were effective April 29, according to letters from Rauner’s office sent to Secretary of State Jesse White.
Oldenettel is a managing broker at RE/MAX Professionals in Springfield, and has extensive professional standards experience and has chaired numerous ethics and arbitration hearings for Illinois REALTORS®. In addition to leading Illinois REALTORS®, he served as board chair for the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation and dean of the REALTOR® Institute Working Group for Illinois REALTORS®.
