The Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Trustees want you to vote for state Rep. Avery Bourne for the 95th House District and state Rep. Dan Beiser for the 111th House District in the Nov. 8 general election.
Bourne and Beiser have been identified by their local associations and by RPAC as REALTOR® champions. In other words, they are for business, private property rights, low taxes and economic growth. Their bids to get elected are termed Opportunity Races.
In February 2015, Bourne took over the term of Rep. Wayne Rosenthal, who accepted a leadership position with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Prior to her appointment, she was attending Washington University School of Law in St. Louis as a Dean’s Fellowship Scholar.
Bourne serves on the following committees:
- Agriculture & Conservation;
- Consumer Protection;
- Counties & Townships;
- Transportation: Vehicles & Safety; and
- Veteran’s Affairs.
Beiser
Beiser was elected to the Alton City Council in 1987, then won the Alton city treasurer race in 1989. He was reelected to three additional terms and was elected by his peers to serve as president of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association. In 2004, he was appointed as state representative of the 111th House District and was reelected in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
Beiser serves on the following committees:
- Aging (vice chairperson);
- Appropriations – Higher Education;
- Local Government;
- Elections & Campaign Reform;
- Elementary & Secondary Education;
- Transportation & Motor Vehicles;
- Higher Education;
- Energy Management Subcommittee; and
- Committee of the Whole.
If either Bourne or Beiser are on your ballot, make sure you’re registered to vote and cast your ballot for one of these candidates on Nov. 8.
