  • Counties & Townships;
  • Transportation: Vehicles & Safety; and
  • Veteran’s Affairs.

Beiser was elected to the Alton City Council in 1987, then won the Alton city treasurer race in 1989. He was reelected to three additional terms and was elected by his peers to serve as president of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association. In 2004, he was appointed as state representative of the 111th House District and was reelected in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.

Beiser serves on the following committees:

  • Aging (vice chairperson);
  • Appropriations – Higher Education;
  • Local Government;
  • Elections & Campaign Reform;
  • Elementary & Secondary Education;
  • Transportation & Motor Vehicles;
  • Higher Education;
  • Energy Management Subcommittee; and
