Despite all the COVID-19-related hardships that affected communities in 2020, the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR) raised $28,000 through its 34th Annual Turkey/Food Drive to help families in need.
The PAAR Cares Foundation used the donations collected for the drive to purchase 2,895 gift certificates to be distributed to 32 local food pantries.
“This year more than ever, we are proud that PAAR has been able to continue supporting our local community and the organizations that count on us to supplement the local food banks. It has been an ongoing effort to support the communities that we live and work in year after year,” said Kendra Sipes, immediate past president of PAAR.
The turkey/food drive began in 1986, just a few weeks before Christmas as PAAR called its members to help families in need during the holidays. The initial campaign donated 100 turkeys and a dozen bags of groceries to the less fortunate, the annual project has grown significantly over the years.

The Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® is led by CEO Reginia Tuttle, President Jason Catton, President-elect Jennifer Hamm, Treasurer Ryan Cannon and Immediate Past President Kendra Sipes. The local association serves 915 members from its headquarters in Peoria.
