Gov. J.B. Pritzker appointed Westchester-area REALTOR® Loretta Alonzo-Deubel to the Illinois Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary (READ) Board.
Alonzo-Deubel, a broker for Century 21 Affiliated in Westchester, joins 10 other Illinois REALTORS® on the 14-person READ board. The READ board reviews disciplinary cases involving real estate licensees, and can recommend penalties that may include fines, suspensions and license revocations based on findings.
“I am honored to be chosen for this appointment and hope I can make a difference in improving the professionalism of the licensees in our real estate industry,” she said.
Alonzo-Deubel began her real estate career in 1976 working with an attorney who specialized in real estate closings. By 1983, she opened a Century 21 office with a partner. She was responsible for training and management. In 1996, she opened her own office, Century 21 Alonzo & Associates. It merged with Century 21 Affiliated in December 2014.
She was a local REALTOR® association president twice and a local REALTOR® of the Year six different times. In 2006, she received the Illinois REALTORS® Distinguished Service Award. In 2012, she became the Illinois REALTORS® president, and in 2015 she was its REALTOR® of the Year.
