Illinois REALTORS® is set to welcome more than 500 members to Springfield over the next two days who will help commemorate the association’s 100th anniversary and take part in the annual Capitol Conference and Lobby Day.
The festivities feature an invitation-only reception this afternoon celebrating the anniversary. On Tuesday there will be the Capitol Conference lunch and then visits to the Illinois Capitol.
REALTORS® coming to Springfield will be in the capital city at a busy legislative time. Lawmakers are coming back from their Easter break, and committee deadlines are on Friday. All that means a busy week for the association’s lobbying team as they work through an ever-changing stack of bills that are up for consideration.
Illinois REALTORS® Director of Government Affairs Greg St. Aubin will be speaking at the annual Capitol Conference luncheon on Tuesday before sprinting to the Capitol to testify on a bill before a legislative committee.
REALTORS® attending the Capitol Conference will get to see first-hand the chaotic nature of this time of the legislative year. Members will get the opportunity to talk to their legislators, and the association’s leadership is scheduled to meet with top state leaders on Tuesday.
Learn more about the Capitol Conference here, and look for updates throughout the next two days about the action in Springfield where REALTORS® will make their voices heard.
