IMG_2435This week the National Association of REALTORS® is hosting the “Housing for All” ‎symposium to discuss how the real estate industry and our members can address homelessness in their communities. A presentation was made by two individuals who were formerly, as they put it, “unhoused.”

The duo shared their stories and their passion for what it means to both individuals and their communities when housing opportunities become available. One of the speakers, Albert Townsend, was homeless for seven years. Now a housing advocate, Townsend stressed that housing affordability is a key factor that perpetuates the problem.

This two-day conference includes a variety of speakers and industry professionals who will share ideas and concepts for solutions that members and staff can bring back to their states and local communities. All of the sessions will be recorded and available for viewing.
