Volunteers from the Rockford Area REALTORS® (RAR) set a record during a November visit to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Rockford.
REALTORS® sorted and packed 11,280 pounds of food into 564 shelf stable boxes, beating the record by one box. The food handled by REALTORS® that day is enough to supply 9,400 meals to families in Rockford and Winnebago County.
The Northern Illinois Food Bank has four locations covering a 13-county area:
- Northwest Center in Rockford,
- North Suburban Center in Park City,
- West Suburban Center in Geneva and
- South Suburban Center in Joliet.
The food bank’s mission is: “Leading the Northern Illinois community in solving hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need through innovative programs and partnerships.”
