The Rockford Area Association of REALTORS® marked a milestone this week, celebrating a century of service to the community and real estate industry. Since 1912, Rockford Area REALTORS® have championed the local housing market and economy and on Thursday more than 400 people gathered to celebrate the association’s 100-year anniversary.
“In 1912 at the first Rockford installation there was a small bottle of earth and the inscription ‘Land, the basis of wealth.’ Rockford members have for 100 years applied a meaning of ‘wealth’ beyond income and investment to a century of community and association service,” said Gary L. Clayton, CAE, RCE, chief executive officer of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®, who spoke at Rockford’s June 7 event.
Former Rockford association president Ginger Sreenan told WREX-TV, “We became very involved, so not only is housing very important to the association of REALTORS® but everything throughout the community that affects the quality of life.”
