Congratulations to New Lenox-area REALTOR® Dale Taylor for his selection as a 2019 Good Neighbor Award winner by REALTOR® Magazine and the National Association of REALTORS®.
Taylor, a broker for RE/MAX 10 New Lenox, will receive a $10,000 grant for his charity, South Suburban Public Action to Deliver Shelter (SSPADS), as one of five winners of the 2019 Good Neighbor Award. Other winners announced Wednesday are: Bruce Johnson of Wasaga Beach, Canada; Mark Solomon of Kansas City, MO; Kimberly Strub of Mill Valley, CA; and Paul Wyman of Kokomo, IN. In addition to receiving identical $10,000 grants, all five will receive travel expenses for the 2019 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in San Francisco, Nov. 8-11, so they can be recognized by their peers.
In addition, Wyman, Johnson and Solomon earned extra bonus grants for accumulating the most online votes in the Web Choice Award competition. Wyman’s charity will receive $2,500 extra, while Johnson’s and Solomon’s will both receive $1,250.
Each year the National Association of REALTORS®’ magazine honors 10 REALTORS® from around the country whose volunteer work makes a difference in their communities. In addition to the five winners, another five REALTORS® will receive $2,500 grants for their charities as honorable mention winners. The honorable mention awards went to: Sabrina Cohen of Miami Beach, FL; Rosemary Dutter of Beloit, WI; Kristy Payne of Edmond, OK; Nora Partlow of Alexandria, VA and Bahar Soomekh of Beverly Hills, CA.
More than 28 years ago, Taylor helped create SSPADS as an emergency shelter for individuals and families in Chicago’s south suburbs. The organization estimates that it’s helped more than 17,000 children, women and men.
