IAR’s board meeting in Springfield Tuesday, Dec. 10, began with members drawing their terms of office.

IAR's 28-member board of directors meets Dec. 10, 2013 in Springfield.

The move was part of a change the association made in 2012, and which takes effect this year for 2014. The change took the board’s size from more than 100 voting members to 28.

The board’s bylaws call for staggered terms, and since this was the first meeting of the newly constituted board, the drawing was used to make sure the bylaws were followed.

Board members drew pieces of paper which informed them they had a one-, two- or three-year term.

Board members with three-year terms included: Loretta Alonzo (a past IAR president), Pat Callan (a past IAR president), Jeff Kolbus, Thomas Krettler, Max Mitchell, Stan Sieron (past IAR president who was appointed as an at-large member), Daniel Wagner and Chuck Wiercinski.

Board members serving a two-year term are: Sheryl Grider Whitehurst (a former IAR president), Kay Wirth (a former IAR president), Michael Buscher, Connie Conway, Robert Eby, Pat McCarthy, Chris Read and Christopher Tenggren.

Serving one-year terms are: Pat Dalessandro (a past IAR president), Michael Onorato (a past IAR president), Andrew Cook, Susan Miller, Ed Neaves, Piero Orsi, Michael Parent and Vicki Turner.

The board members are joined by the association’s four officers: Phil Chiles, president; Jim Kinney, president-elect; Mike Drews, treasurer; and Michael D. Oldenettal, immediate past president.

NAR Region 7 Vice President John Kmiecik serves on the board in an ex-officio role.
