Today marks the deadline for a national effort to have local and state REALTOR® associations meet a set of standards for service to members.
The NAR’s Organizational Alignment Core Standards outlines requirements that associations must meet, ranging from attention to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, financial reporting and consumer outreach.
IAR has been working with local associations statewide to help them meet the deadline.
The majority of the state’s associations has submitted and received approval from NAR, or is well on its way to meeting the deadline. Three local associations determined they would merge with other organizations as part of the Core Standards process.
For more information on the core standards, read the NAR Board of Directors document that summarizes changes made on May 17, 2014, check the Frequently Asked Questions or the compliance tool.
