In today’s video, NAR Political Representative Patrick Wohl previews the upcoming mid-term elections on Nov. 8 and how the results might affect subsequent decisions by both chambers of Congress.
Wohl also cited several examples of lobbying that prevented Congress from negatively impacting REALTORS® or other stakeholders in the real estate industry. For example, NAR lobbied to:
- protect 1031 like-kind exchanges and capital gains,
- support the Safe Banking Act and its benefits for real estate transactions,
- back housing providers and
- reduce the FHA’s annual mortgage insurance premiums.
