A step toward making it easier for REALTORS® to do business in the city of Chicago gained traction in the Chicago City Council.
Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza introduced legislation which would allow REALTORS® to buy a city-wide parking permit. The permits, if approved by the City Council, would cost $500 for agents in the city, and $800 for agents outside of the city, according to the story in Crain’s Chicago Business.
Quoted in the story was Brian Bernardoni, an IAR government affairs director who works with the Chicago Association of REALTORS®.
“We want to make it s easy as possible for our clients to get help when it comes to buying or selling a home,” Bernardoni said.
The legislation calls for a two-year pilot program for the passes. Several REALTORS® said they saw the legislation as very helpful to their efforts to work with clients.
