Illinois REALTORS® Fall Business Meetings continued in Oak Brook Wednesday, with members attending committee meetings and open forums.
Young Professionals Network hosted an early morning yoga session with deep stretching, light yoga poses and meditation.
Open forum sessions began with Intersect Illinois CEO Dan Seals reminding members of the many reasons why Illinois is a great place to do business and offering a copy of his presentation as a resource.
In the Illinois State Policy Update Forum, Illinois REALTORS® Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs Greg St. Aubin, Senior Advisor Governmental Affairs Betsy Mitchell and Manager of State Government Affairs Jim Clayton presented examples of “good, bad and ugly” legislation. State legislators are receptive to their ideas because Illinois REALTORS® has repeatedly helped legislators resolve issues while removing unintended negative consequences from proposed legislation.
Members attending the Understanding Property Tax Complexity Forum heard from Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi.
The MLS Summit included a panel discussion covering MLS industry issues, how to solve data pain points for brokerages and future showing services solutions that adapt to brokerages.
The forums closed with a commercial and residential real estate market forecast, “Winterizing: Analysis and Outlook on the Illinois Residential and Commercial Real Estate Market,” by Dr. Daniel McMillen, University of Illinois at Chicago.
Following the day’s activities, the Illinois REALTORS® Leadership Development Program graduates enjoyed a Class Reunion reception.
