The Office of the State Fire Marshal has announced it will hold a public hearing in Springfield on its proposed update of the state’s Life Safety Code.

The hearing will be 9 a.m. Aug. 6, 2013, at the fire marshal’s office at 1035 Stevenson Drive.

Those wishing to speak can sign up at the event and will get 10 minutes of time to make their case. Those presenting oral presentations are also encouraged to provide written testimony as well.
