All licensed professionals are now required by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to receive sexual harassment prevention training.
To fulfill this requirement, the provider of the training must be approved by the Division of Real Estate. Sexual harassment prevention training provided by your employer will only be counted if your employer is an approved provider for the Division of Real Estate and if you receive a certificate of completion.
Illinois REALTORS® offers two online courses that fulfill the requirement: RD 983 Sexual Harassment Prevention (1-hour Elective CE) and RD 981 Sexual Harassment Prevention and Safety (2-hour Elective CE).
The mandatory Sexual Harassment Prevention course does not increase the total number of hours needed to renew a license: it may be included in the number of hours already required under the Acts and Rules.
1-hour online course – RD 983 Sexual Harassment Prevention
- RD 983 Sexual Harassment Prevention is a 1-hour online Elective CE course. It is included in the 15-hour Broker Post-License Interactive webinar and the 30-hour Broker Post-License Online Package. but may also be taken as a standalone course.
2-hour online Elective course – RD 981 Sexual Harassment Prevention and Safety
- RD 981 Sexual Harassment Prevention and Safety is a 2-hour online Elective CE course that provides both sexual harassment prevention training and safety training for real estate professionals. It is included in the 12-hour Broker CE Package with Elective Option and the 6-hour Core CE + Sexual Harassment Prevention Package. but may also be taken as a standalone course.
3-hour online Elective course – Sexual Harassment Prevention on the Leap Learning platform
- Illinois Sexual Harassment Prevention Training is a 3-hour Elective CE course provided through our partnership with leap learning, which satisfies the Sexual Harassment Prevention Training requirement for broker license renewal.
You will not need to provide evidence of course completion to renew your license, however you should retain the certificate of completion you receive for your records. You may be asked to confirm that you have completed the training, and you may also need to provide a certificate if you renew late, need to restore an expired license, or if you are included in a CE audit.
