Activity during the past week in the Illinois General Assembly included the House Labor and Commerce Committee’s unanimous approval of changes to the Real Estate License Act that are supported by Illinois REALTORS® and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
The changes are represented in an amendment to Senate Bill 1872 that must receive final legislative approval in the House and concurrence by the Senate, according to the May 17 edition of the State Capitol Report.
With one week left until bills must be approved by the opposite chamber and two weeks until the scheduled adjournment of the spring session, Illinois REALTORS® is monitoring a number of other bills, including two pieces of legislation regarding local government consolidation and an initiative of the Cook County Assessor to establish reporting requirements for tax purposes on most income-producing properties.
