Illinois REALTORS® and its Global Business Council welcomed an internationally-focused crowd to Chicago on Thursday at a reception.
The association was sponsor of the International REALTORS® Welcome Event, which was opened by Illinois REALTORS® President Matt Difanis.
“This is an extraordinary community that cherishes the freedom that comes with property ownership and the commitment to a Code of Ethics which respects each nation’s norms, but supports making “REALTOR®” a globally-respected brand,” Difanis told a packed ballroom at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile.
Illinois REALTORS® has played a longstanding role in promoting training and exposure to international real estate. The state association has partnered with the National Association of REALTORS® to participate in the annual MIPIM conference in France, and established a Consulate General Liaison Program which links foreign investors with interest in Illinois with a REALTOR® who has expertise in cross-border transactions.
“This industry continues to offer opportunities for those seeking to realize the dream of property ownership,” Difanis said. “And the industry continues to benefit from the expertise of those in this room.”
REALTORS® are in Chicago for the annual Conference and Trade Expo. It ends Monday with the national association’s Board of Director’s meeting.
