The March 2 edition of the State Capitol Report explains six bills of interest to Illinois REALTORS® that passed through House and Senate committees last week, including House Bill 4390.
A bill first introduced in 2017 was approved unanimously by the House Fire and Emergency Services Committee. House Bill 4390, which was the subject of negotiations with various parties, including the Illinois REALTORS®, creates a new offense of “First Responder Endangerment” which will be a Class 4 felony. Illinois REALTORS® will continue to follow the progress of the bill through the full House.
Other bills that passed committees include: an expansion of county stormwater management committees, changes to the Real Estate Appraiser Licensing Act and the Appraisal Management Company Registration Act, a clarifying change to the State Tax Lien Registry Act, jurisdictional changes to certain regional development authorities and the dissolution of the Lakes Region Sanitary District.
