Congratulations to Sonia Anaya, broker-owner of America Real Estate in Chicago, who was named the recipient of the 2016 Political Involvement Award today during the Illinois REALTORS® Public Policy Meetings in East Peoria.

for achievements and excellence in political and grassroots involvement. Anaya is a REALTOR® who  leads by example with her commitment to advancing the political advocacy issues important to the real estate industry.

“It means a great deal to me because I have a passion for what I do and real estate is what I love to do,” Anaya said after the announcement. “I’m very, very happy.”

She has served on the REALTORS® Political Action Committee Trustees, State Legislative Contacts Working Group and this year marks her

seventh year on the Federal Political Coordinators Working Group. In 2017, she chairs the RPAC Major Investor Working Group.

Anaya’s involvement in the REALTOR® organization has been felt locally, statewide and nationally. She is a 2014 graduate of the Illinois REALTORS® Leadership Development Program and is a past member of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors.

She has served as the Federal Political Coordinator for Illinois Congressman Luis Gutierrez and is the liaison to Mexico as part of Illinois REALTORS® Consulate General Liaison Program.

She also stands out for her support of the RPAC mission. Anaya is a RPAC Major Investor, a President’s Circle member and is among the distinguished group of REALTORS® from around the country who have been inducted into the National Association of REALTORS® RPAC Hall of Fame.
