Illinois REALTORS® paid tribute to 2021 President Sue Miller during a special luncheon at the Fall Business Meetings Tuesday in Naperville.
Also honored at the luncheon was 2020 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Doug Carpenter.
Miller, designated managing broker of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group in McHenry, has been licensed since 1987, and has earned numerous designations: ABR, AHWD, BPOR, C2EX, CRB, CRS, GRI, ePro, LTG, PMN, SFR and SRS.
She is a member of the Heartland REALTOR® Organization (HRO). Miller served two terms as local president and was twice named its REALTOR® of the year. She is a past president of the Lakes Area REALTORS® Association serving southeastern Wisconsin.
At the state level, she has been involved in numerous working groups and committees throughout her real estate career. She is an industry trainer and has been chair of the Education Working Group and the Grievance Committee and Ethics Citation Panel. In addition, she’s been a member of the Real Estate Educational Foundation’s (REEF) Board of Directors. In 2017, Miller was honored as Illinois REALTOR® of the Year.
She is a longtime contributor to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and in 2020 was inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame for an aggregate lifetime investment of at least $25,000. In 2013, she was honored with the Illinois REALTORS® Distinguished Service Award.
Miller has served on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors and a variety of committees at the national level. She is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers and the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council. She is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of the Council of Residential Specialists. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from Winona State University in Minnesota.
A resident of McHenry, Miller is a longtime board member of the McHenry Elementary Education Foundation and the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, which honored her as its “Woman of Accomplishment” in 2016. McHenry County Magazine named Miller one of its “Women of Distinction” in 2018. She has held leadership positions with the McHenry Nunda Public Library District, Riverside Area Business Association and the nonprofit community growth planning group, Imagine McHenry County. In April 2019, she was elected to the McHenry City Council.
