Daniel Goodwin

Illinois REALTOR® and NAR RPAC Investors Hall of Fame member Daniel L. Goodwin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the Inland Real Estate Group, Inc., of Oak Brook, is one of 10 finalists for the NAR 2015 Good Neighbor Award.

Voting is open on NAR’s website to pick the Web Choice winner. If Goodwin garners the most votes, a charity he founded, New Directions Housing Corp., will get a $1,000 grant.  Vote now for Goodwin before Sept. 25.

In 1994, Goodwin founded New Directions, a non-profit organization which supplies low-income Illinois residents with affordable housing.

In those 21 years, New Directions has built or rehabilitated hundreds of multi-family units. The organization has worked with other groups to provide food, after-school care for children, immunizations and more to those it serves. He has also served on the board of the Illinois Housing Development Authority Trust Fund and as a chairman of DuPage County’s first Affordable Housing Task Force.

In addition to being a member of the NAR RPAC Hall of Fame, Goodwin is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® President’s Circle, the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Hall of Fame, and The Chicago Association of REALTORS® Hall of Fame.

Goodwin is the founder of the Retail Properties of America REIT and is chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Trusts Non-traded REIT Council. He is chairman of the Board of Inland Bancorp and a director of the Chicago Better Government Association.

On Sept. 30, NAR will announce five winners, and each will receive a $10,000 grant for their community charity, along with recognition in REALTOR® Magazine and at the REALTORS® Conference and Expo Nov. 13-16 in San Diego, Calif. Winners also receive travel expenses to the conference and receive local media exposure for their community cause. In addition, five honorable mentions each receive $2,500 grants for their charities.
