U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia met a group of trade association executives this week, including National Association of REALTORS® CEO Bob Goldberg, to discuss association health plans and the new association retirement plan rule.

“NAR has spent the past decade advocating for reform of health insurance markets that provide coverage to the self-employed and to small employers,” Goldberg said after Wednesday’s meeting. “These efforts have only intensified as nearly a quarter-million REALTORS® remain unable to secure affordable coverage in expensive individual Affordable Care Act markets.”

According to NAR, the Labor Department relies on information from the real estate industry as it defends a legal challenge to its association health plans rule by a dozen state attorneys general. Find out more.
