In January, Illinois REALTORS® announced that Mokena REALTOR® Doug Carpenter of Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group was its 2020 REALTOR® of the Year.

Carpenter’s honor was announced during the state association’s Public Policy Meetings in East Peoria. He would have been formally honored in April, but COVID-19 and a statewide stay-at-home order cancelled the annual banquet. As such, Carpenter will now be honored as the 2021 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year.

The award honors individuals whose dedication to excellence has profoundly enhanced the industry and Carpenter more than fits that description. In a real estate career that has spanned 35 years, he has been involved in all levels of the REALTOR® organization, including leading the state association as president in 2017.

Carpenter twice served as president of his local association and was the CEO of Three Rivers Association of REALTORS®. He is currently a member of the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® and has been awarded the local association’s Key Award honoring his commitment to the industry. In 2009, he was honored with the Illinois REALTORS® Distinguished Service Award.

Find out more about Carpenter, his accomplishments and the ways he has served the industry and his fellow REALTORS®.
